VETERAN team Goto Kids topped this year’s Treasure Quest 5–The Sun.Star-Isuzu Challenge, The Ultimate Adventure on Wheels, held last Saturday at the Paref-Springdale School for Boys in Lahug.

The Goto Kids, made up of Billy Gerard Balbin, GP Gaviola, OG Rivera and Jairos Dellosa, who had been participating for the past five editions, bested 15 other entries to bag the P50,000 top prize.

Coming in at second place was the Micro–warehouse-Linksys Team composed of Romil Jose Fernandez, Naomi Arca–yan, Honee Covero and Rodel Diola, who went home P25,000 richer. Team Creamie De Lite of Christian Tiongko, Ace Moreno, Lyn Pedrano and Arnel Tan settled for third place and received P10,–000 for their feat.

Aside from the cash prize, the Goto Kids also won the Best Breadhawker Award after consuming P20 worth of bread in one minute and 33 seconds for them to receive addition gift certificates.

The Goto Kids’ sister team, the Pagdadalaga ng Goto Kids, manned by Noel Tio, Jojit Lanas, Dakila Mutia and Lawrence Para–doon, won the Most Twisted Tongue Award to get four Training Gift Certificates.

Meanwhile Team Bar–standars won the High Performance Challenge Awards.

On the other hand, of the 16 teams, only two passed the Cleanest Emission test for gasoline fueled vehicles and these were Team Destination Specialist and Team Gra–phicstar, who will be splitting the P5,000 prize for the gasoline category. No winner was declared in the Diesel fueled vehicles category.

In the Fuel Efficiency Challenge, Team IPI made up of Frank, Ivan Francis Evangelista and Mark Clinton Gines used an Isuzu Crosswind XT, which ran for 20.66 kilometer per liter to win the award and the P10,000 top purse.

All teams had to complete all the challenges at the 10 pit stops to earn points spread in Man–daue, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu and Talisay Cities. (RCM)
