Speak out: Breaking the barrier
By Roland Lejarde Secretary General
Cefedi, Cebu chapter

THE Cebu Federal Inc. (Cefedi) is the first organization in Cebu created to promote the Federal system in place of the unitary or centralized governance if the people so decide to make it a reality. The question of why do we choose to be among the proponents of Federalism here in Cebu is because Cebu is a central part of where information and interaction take precedence, and we are the kind of group that is concerned about the next generation.

We in Cefedi feel the responsibility towards our fellow people to have a direct understanding of how Federalism works by educating them, as we don’t like the same harsh life parallel to the dysfunctional society can do to constituents for the profit of only those who are in power, and to continue forever as if it is feasible.

Who are these people to be the future, entrusted to deal with the crucial part in our struggle? Should we trust ourselves? For the people who would rather say that they have not been affected by the turn of events worse than before, I ask you this question: are you not involved or are you not a part of this society for your senses to be free from international ridicule?

Gipangsaway na man ta all over the world. Do you really think that it is wise for you intellectuals or those in the middle class to do the tango and forget the above fact as “ana naman gyud na ba.” Who will dance the tune anyway—it is you and the one in power. For me, you are one in the company of the silent majority and that would not be all nowadays. Today, the worst that it is happening affecting the morality of our youth, silent majority are the stupid majority.

While this piece of mine caters to the reading and thinking public composed of the middle class all the way to the English comprehending among the poor who have nothing to win for reason of ignorance of which the former is one included in the silent M, I would rather say, please act in their rescue. Or while the intellectual minority among the middle class detour any involvement in politics even during election, the true stupid became the majority who will determine the chances of the corrupt to win. So, why not you among the silent wake up and take the helm as dedicated sector in the society lest you will be among the inferior.

So when the plebiscite finally comes for us to decide whether to adopt a Federal form of government, a YES vote from you will be fine, but maybe (just maybe), you possibly forget this line of thought when the day comes. One thing you will never forget is the stupidity you are being part of if you opt to be one when all of us become a loser. So, come on take a choice.
