Home, Sweet Home
By Luis A. Quibranza III

IT is without a doubt that a weary worker, after a long stretch, will long to find comfort.

Or after every individual’s concern is dealt with during the day, the barkada will get-together as soon as the sun sets, and will enjoy each other’s company until the clock strikes their consciences.

Amidst the rising prices of almost every commodity these days, it is a joy to know that there is a hangout existing still that emanates the feel of home on the road.

This is what the Talamban Leisure Center (TLC) boasts of.

Located along Kalubihan road, TLC offers with a touch of class amenities for everyone in need of rest and recreation. There is a salon and spa by Sawasdee, a restaurant/coffee shop, a badminton court, a garden area great for evening dining and a karaoke room that can accommodate up to 20 Big Brother hopefuls.

This stopover is open during lunch and dinner every day. And personal preferences and requests are just a phone call arrangement away.

There are three elements a person would like to make sure he meets before being able to judge a place a great hangout. Consider it as simple as ABC. Ambience. Budget. Company.

Ambience. What comes immediately into mind when stepping into the leisure center is that, it would be an ideal place to hold a ‘house party.’ Imagine music playing from house speakers, dozens of friends everywhere and numerous ‘little spots’ for you and your friends to choose from whichever you find suitable to start a great conversation.

In fact, the foundation upon which this place is built does not only rest upon rock and gravel. But also upon the desire of owner Dr. Dennis M. Tudtud, to host his guests as much as possible in the confines of his own home.

Truly Filipino indeed, the kind heart will not refuse hospitality to a visitor. But not everything good can become limitless. As a result of Dr. Tudtud’s desire to host, TLC was born to accommodate more people in need of a venue for any and every event.

Which brings me to my next point.

Budget. The place is a winner when it comes to saving a few bucks. The center is open for anybody, requires no membership-fee and the rates are deserving of praise. With price out of the issue, students, yuppies or families can have a good time without fearing a gaping hole in their pockets.

And because food, fun and fellowship can be made available at compromising costs, who wouldn’t want to bring the whole troop in and enjoy each other’s company?

The place can be all you want it to be. It can be as intimate for a date with your fiancé, as casual as a ‘lunch-out with friends or as grand as your daughter’s debut.

Home, sweet home. This age-old line would ring a bell as much as true wisdom grabs ears. Nothing beats being with your loved ones.

In the end, TLC is actually an open house all to yourself and your companions. On a lighter note, perhaps a few stuck in the Banilad –Talamban jam for hours would find TLC a perfect pitstop to de-stress.
