After conquaering Ilocos, Niños eye Pagadian next

AFTER conquering Ilocos Sur, the M. Lhuillier-Cebu Niños are now training their eyes for the next pocket tournament that will be hosted by the Pagadian Explorers in Week 3 of the 2008 Liga Pilipinas Championships tour elimination phase from July 2 to 6 in Pagadian City.

The Niños, champion of the Ilocos Sur leg, will be challenged by the host team and the winner of the Mis-Or leg Pagadian, MisOr Meteors and the Trace Laguna Stallions.

Currently on the top of the team standings with 12 points, the Niños are closely followed by the Explorers with 10, Ilocos Bravehearts with seven, while Baguio Victory and MisOr Meteors have six points each. Taguig Batang Global has five and Laguna Stallions with two points.

What makes the Pagadian leg interesting is two of the teams have axe to grind against the host .

Revenge

The Meteors is seeking revenge against the Explorers who booted them out in the race for the championship twice. Aside from the vengeance theme, the winner of the league will surely push the team ahead of the race for the top four spots to gain an automatic slot to the quarterfinals.

In each pocket tournament, a champion will earn 10 points, five for the runnerup and three points for the third placer. (RCM)
