Man falls off cliff in Borbon

A MAN on his way to a neighbor’s house fell off a cliff in Borbon town, two days after a decomposing body was found floating in the sea in Madridejos town Friday afternoon.

At past 8 a.m. yesterday, Barangay Cadaro-han, Borbon officials reported that Abundio Ruedas Rivera, 48, was found dead down a four-meter ravine in Sitio Tabay Lawom.

SPO2 Maximo Sanico of the Borbon Police Station said Rivera left past 6 p.m. last Saturday to go to a neighbor’s house.
Rivera failed to return home.

The police believe he fell and died after hitting his head on rocks.

Still, the police subjected his body to an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

In Madridejos town, the police received a report on a floating body off the waters of the island municipality last Friday.

The man’s body was brought on board f/b Debbie, a fishing boat that docked in Kaongkod Wharf.

Crewmembers found him in the waters off Tangigue Islet at 1 p.m. that day.

The police said the victim was 5’6” tall, had a mustache, and was down to his underwear.

Because the man was already in a state of decomposition, they buried his body at the municipal cemetery at 3:30 p.m. (MEA)
