"Angels inflight" are what the airline stewardesses of Cathay Pacific airways (CX) are sometimes referred to, as truly, they are our angels during our inflight travel! Looking after our every need or mood, they exercise patience, professionalism and top performance in dealing with all variety of clients.

But all work and no play, makes angels dry, indeed. So on a sultry weekend, at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom in Kowloon Hong Kong, an event was unfolding called “Rainbow,” an annual dinner party participated in by CX “Inflight (IF) Managers.”

Our good friend Elena Sy, every inch a Cebuana and a statuesque stunner at that, shared her photos of the successful affair with us.

A bevy of ladies, all 238 inflight service personnel, and members of the Inflight Service Dept. (ISD) were in glamorous and gaily colored attendance. Breakdown was 20 Cebuana IF managers and 200 Filipinas all belonging to Batch 1985.

The evening’s dress code was not limited to splashes of color on your dress, but also on your hair — spotted were apple green, lavender, crimson, cinnamon, vermillion, blonde, and what-have you — as the mane event!Very special guests were CX general manager Charlie Stewart Cox, who gave the welcome remarks and CX chief operating officer John Slosar, who were both lucky to be surrounded by so much beauty and color. Again, it wasn’t all fun and frolic for the girls, but serious humanitarian efforts, with dinner which started with a prayer for the hapless and helpless earthquake victims of Sichuan (China) and opened that table for donations.

Angels in word and deed, toasts to you, CX!

This time it’s an Angel Collection of quality leather bags, light luggage and accessories, when smart entrepreneur Angel Rosal Sultan, held her boutique blessing recently at the posh SM City Northwing. Eleven o’clock in the morning seems to be the “in” time for store inaugurals, for that’s the hour chosen by our business woman.

“My leather goods factory is based abroad, and I regularly supply all my branches with the latest in fashion trends,” she said proudly. In attractive display were summer colors, like lime green, burnt sienna, dark lavender, wine and the traditional black. Matching leather wallets and belts also grabbed our attention.

Wherever you are, drop by an Angel Shop; Banilad Town Centre, Fashion Gallery Boutique, Plantation Bay Resort Hotel, Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, Lorrine’s boutique, Hilton Hotel.

Fly high, Angel, and more leather bags!

Japanese professor Manabu Noda was in town to conduct an Ikenobo workshop for members of the Ikenobo Society in Cebu, at Montebello Villa Hotel.

The well attended affair had enrollees as far as Cagayan de Oro City, which made the Cebu group very happy indeed!
