EXCITING times are here for St. Theresa’s College (STC) and its alumnae. This year marks the Diamond jubilee of the school and the celebration is year-long.

Coming up on July 26, is Homecoming Day. The activities start on Monday, July 21, with the STC Museum Exhibit Opening. The next day, July 22, is devoted to “Career Talks” to be held at the auditorium. The Festival of Dances at the STC Quadrangle comes on July 23, and on Thursday, July 24.

Dr. Cawilihan Zubiri will give a talk on “Each Her Own Way” at the Little Theatre of the IHM Bldg. On tab for Friday, the 25th, is the book launching of A Diamond Jubilation by Jenara Regis Newman.

In the evening, the much-anticipated fund-raising, event dubbed “Diamond Jeans Soiree,” unfolds at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Providing the music is the Spirit of ’67, the well-known Manila group who specializes in dance tunes of the yesteryears.

Homecoming Day on Saturday begins with registration and election of officers from 1 p.m. onwards at the STC campus.

Photo sessions for the jubilarian classes come next and then Holy Mass at 3 p.m. at the STC Chapel. The newly refurbished auditorium will then be blessed followed by the program presentation of the jubilarians at 6 p.m. Dinner follows at the STC Quadrnagle.

Northwest Airlines hosted a cocktail-dinner affair at Abaca Boutique Resort and Restaurant in Mactan to honor its top producers for 2007 from the VisMin area. In town for the very exclusive gathering were NW country manager-Asia Pacific Steven Crowdey, NW marketing and communications manager Patricia Celis, NW-Interpacific Transit GM Gina Campos, sales manager Jessica Pineda and business development manager Mark Abastillas. The Cebu NW-ITI team led by district manager Anne Climaco, included Lani Su, Jiji Quilaton, Diane Torrevillas, Cora Ortiz and Kaye Mercado.

It was a glorious evening by the beach with stirring background music from the Chord on Wood duo of violinist Marc and keyboard accompanist Dave. As expected, the food was excellent.

In his brief talk, Steven Crowdey spoke about the Northwest-Delta merger which will better position the combined carrier for long-term strength and profitability.
