Tuesday, July 22, 2008 Fine Portraitures By Ritchie Landis Doner Quijano
THERE'S now no doubt that painter Jun Impas is Cebu’s most sought after portraitist. His development as an artist is so fast it’s going by leaps and bounds.
Impas made a name for himself in the field of fine oil portraitures. His clients make up a veritable list of who’s who not only here but also in Manila.
Today, the name Impas is regarded in the art community as a byword that is synonymous to portraits.
After staging a solo show consisting of portraits at the SM Art Center, Impas continues to expand by satisfying collectors in the national capital. On July 27, the art book Philippine Art Now, authored by Manuel Duldulao, will be launched at the Banilad Town Center and it will feature, among others, the paintings of Impas.
In the past, his art works were published in art books like the Collector’s Guide, The Petron Annual and Philippine Nudes and it’s Model.
An online gallery site of his works can be viewed at junimpas.com, a website designed by Dong Secuya. Visit the site to see the complete collection of his body of works. Here’s a small sampling of Impas’ exquisite portraits.
