Volunteer nabs burglar in Bogo

AN anti-crime volunteer arrested a man he caught trying to break into a shop in Barangay Gairan, Bogo City last Sunday.

Ronaldo Formentera, 25, allegedly broke into the stores owned by Engr. Edwin Guevarra and Elizabeth Corvera.

But Ricardo Bercero, a member of the Bogo City Anti Crime Task Force, caught him in the act of breaking into the stores.

Bercero placed him under arrest and then brought him to the Bogo City Police Station.

Missing

However, only two necklaces amounting to P100 were discovered missing from Guevarra’s store while nothing was missing from Corvera’s shop.

PO3 Allan Dosdos of the Bogo City Police Station they believe the other items found in Formentera’s bag were also stolen. However, they do not know yet who own the items.

Recovered

Aside from Guevarra’s necklaces police recovered a padlock and chain, a digital camera, a cellular phone, two wallets, screw, a six-inch bolt, a belt bag, clothes and a lighter inside a traveling bag that Formentera was carrying.

Formentera reportedly used something to bend the padlock and force open the door to the shops.

Though not much was taken from their stores, Dosdos said Guevarra and Corvera told police that they were bent on pursuing cases against Formentera.

Dosdos said they are now preparing a case for robbery and attempted robbery against the suspect. (MEA)
