THE M. Lhuillier-Cebu Niños are looking forward to sweeping all the leg titles as they play their final leg in the 2008 Liga Pilipinas Championships Tour Elimination to be played at the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City starting today.
However, the Iloilo leg promised to be another trying tournament for the Cebuanos as two leg champions Pagadian Explorers are also seeking to claim its third leg title and to secure the No.1 slot in the tournament.
Cebu is currently on top with 37 points, eight points clear over Pagadian, which had 29. Pampanga Buddies trailing with 27, Taguig Batang Global had 23, Lipa/Batangas Barakos 17, Ilocos Sur Bravehearts 16, Misamis Oriental Meteors with 15, Quezon Red Oilers with 14, Tagaytay/Cavite Heroes and Baguio Victor with 12 each, Laguna Stallions with 8 and Zamboanga and Iloilo tied at the bottom with 3 points each.
Meanwhile, Liga Pilipinas president and CEO Noli Eala announced that the league is organizing an outreach program called—Iloilo, Ka-Liga Kita, aimed to give donations to the victims of Typhoon Frank in the entire Iloilo Province.
Eala announced that each of the 13 member teams of Liga Pilipinas are asked to donate cash and goods to be distributed to the typhoon victims.
Today, Cebu will play against Pagadian, in the opening game in Iloilo City, while the Iloilo Mang Inasals play Quezon, who just won a leg title at their home last Sunday.
Over in Tagaytay City, Taguig Batang Global will play against Lipa/Batangas Barakos while home team Tagaytay/Cavite Heroes against the MisOr Meteors. (RCM)
