Mother stabs husband for ‘raping’ daughter

AFTER learning that her husband raped her daughter, a mother stabbed a farmer in a village in Dalaguete town Wednesday.

Patricia Flores Be-larma, 41, and her 19-year-old daughter surrendered to barangay officials of Tabon, Dalaguete after admitting to stabbing and hacking Cerino Velarde Belarma, 49.

Cerino suffered hack and stab wounds in different parts of his body but survived the attack.

The argument began after Patricia confronted Cerino asking him if it was true that he raped the teenager when she was just 10 years old. The alleged victim is Patricia’s daughter from a previous relationship.

Confided

Though the incident happened when she was 10, it was only recently that she confided it to Patricia.

She reportedly confronted him early morning but he did not answer her. That first argument led her to hit him with a piece of wood.

Fled

Cerino reportedly fled to get away from her but returned at past 7 a.m.

While he was eating breakfast, Patricia began asking him again.

Still, Cerino reportedly refused to answer and continued eating breakfast.

This angered Patricia, who then stabbed Cerino. The daughter, who was in the room, also grabbed a bolo and hacked him several times.

Wounded

Wounded, Cerino ran outside.

The mother and daughter surrendered to barangay officials, who called up the police to pick them up.

Cerino was taken to the Dr. Alcantara Memorial Hospital but was transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City. (MEA)
