Go:Partying at the Cove
By Charlene Go

IT is seems like it was only yesterday when that enchanting restaurant by the sea in Cebu’s premier resort was transformed into a hip, fresh, trendy bar and restaurant.

It was where the celebration of the full moon began, where you would find some of Cebu’s privileged dressed in white and where guests would be captivated by fire dancers all throughout the festive night.

The celebration continues as Cowrie Cove at Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa turned four years old last week. It was an evening of colorful retro-fun and entertainment as legendary DJ Gilbert Go of GAP Mobile and Ronald Tan brought us back to the past with the best of the 70s and 80s music.

Of course, the evening would not have been complete without the mesmerizing fire dancers and the award winning flare-tenders of the Cove. It was also an evening for the new staff and crew of the food and beverage department of Shangri-La to show us what they’re made of. Congratulations, Cowrie Cove! Cheers, the best is yet to come!

And while we look forward to bigger and better things to come, they say that life begins at 30, which is probably why this bar-cum-kitchen all began.

Situated in a little corner right outside the gates of Paradise Village in Banilad, you will find a quaint four-walled nook where family and friends can get together for afternoon tea or have a hearty Spanish-Mediterranean dinner or enjoy one-of-a-kind cocktails after a long days work. With its welcoming atmosphere, it gives guests the feeling of having their personal local pub. With the warm, cozy ambience it makes them feel like they are in the comfort of their own home.
