Monday, July 28, 2008 Neri: Weddings By Nelia G. Neri Eve
THE future looks bright and blissful for Mikkel Gabriel Gutierrez and Stephanie Anne “Tippy” Sala who were united in the holy sacrament of matrimony during mid-morning rites at the St. Jude Thaddeus Church in Camp Lapulapu on the first Saturday of July. Officiating priest was Fr. John de Pontac, CSJ. The marriage is a union of soul mates who realized early during their acquaintance that they were truly meant for each other. Both were involved in the organization of a Landmark Forum (a self-improvement, self-discovery seminar) in Cebu when they crossed each other’s path.
Tippy was absolutely dazzling in her Cary Santiago bridal finery featuring cut-out details on the bouffant skirt. With her finely chiseled features and graceful gait, she looked like a fairy princess in wonderland as she walked down the flower-bedecked aisle on the arm of her Dad Juan “Nyto” Sala. Her adoring groom marched earlier with his dear Mom Anna Rosario Manahan Gutierrez while the bride’s Mom, Josephine Militar Sala, was escorted to her place of honor by the groom’s Dad Ramon Ricardo Gutierrez.
Principal sponsors were Russel Pomeranz and Christine Pomeranz; Manuel Gutierrez and Angelita Gregorio-Medel; Danilo Feliciano and Linda Go; Benjamin Militar and Pilar Martinez-Miranda; Victor Arguelles and Asuncion Montinola; Augusto Serafica and Vicky Rose Pacheco.
In the wedding entourage were Alezander Zuparic, best man; Jose Antonio Puno and Salvador Jose Ivan Sala, groomsmen; bridesmaids Pilar Ma. Carmen Sala and Angelica Ann Gutierrez; flower girls Alia Marie Suarez, Camille Therese Iway, Arianna Ma. Antoinette Sala and Alexandra Beatrice Cruz; and ring/coin bearer Juan Ignacio Sala.
People close to the couple’s heart acted as secondary sponsors: Patrick De Veyra and Christine-Marie Garcia for the candle; Adrian Dimacali and Ma. Beatriz Bagatsing for the veil; Paul Lovine Gopez and Lourdes Annette Martinez for the cord.
A brunch reception followed at the Casino Espańol de Cebu. It was a meticulously prepared spread of breakfast specialties and lunch favorites.
Food and decor consultant was none other than the grand aunt of the bride, Rosebud Revilla Sala who once again showed her expertise in creating wonders for red-letter occasions. And yes, Mikko and Tippy’s wedding was one special celebration of love!
