Friday, August 01, 2008 Prayer-rally set v. anti-life bills
AFTER the successful march aimed at sending a strong message to lawmakers against the anti-life and anti-family bills in Congress and Senate, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Archdiocesan Service Committee, together with Human Life International Pilipinas and the World Apostolate of Fatima, will hold another prayer-rally tomorrow.
Thousands of Catholics are expected to converge at the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral Plaza for the Candlelight Procession for Life and Family. It will start at 4:30 p.m. with a mass, followed by the candlelight procession around the Cathedral’s plaza, the reading of petitions, offering of flowers and the crowning of the Image of Our Lady Mediatrix of All Grace.
Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal is calling all Catholics, especially those with families, to join the religious activity.
The Catholic faithful are requested to bring rosaries and candles.
The rally is aimed at gathering support against the controversial Reproductive Health Care Bill, Divorce Bill and Gay Rights Bill, which are set to be taken up by both the Senate and House of Representatives this month.
