DESPITE minor delays, project managers hope to finish the P1.2-billion tunnel at the Cebu South Coastal Road Project (CSCRP) by July next year, but a three-month allowance for the actual completion has been set.

The tunnel was supposed to be 50 percent done as of June 25, 2008, but the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported an actual accomplishment rate of only 40.49 percent.

Engineer Nonito Labrador of the CSCRP project monitoring office of the DPWH said they are optimistic they can meet the June 26, 2009 contract expiry date.
