Wednesday, August 06, 2008 Hospital patients warned of blood clot
A hospital stay, even one as short as a few days, can greatly increase the chance of forming a blood clot in the legs or lungs. In fact, blood clots in the lungs, known as pulmonary embolisms, are blamed for as many as 10 percent of deaths in hospitalized patients. Blood clots are even more likely to develop after a patient has left the hospital.
These are findings from a study conducted in Massachusettes, USA, where medical records of 1,897 people show that they were diagnosed with blood clots within three months of surgery or hospital stay. This is because of factors that increase blood clot formation seen in both surgical and non-surgical patients - thickening of the blood triggered by some medications, injury to blood vessels like that from a needle, and prolonged immobility.
Dr. Samuel Goldhaber, a professor at Harvard Medical School wrote: “People get a false sense of security because patients often look their best at the time of the hospital discharge.” Every doctor who releases a patient should be concerned with blood clot prevention.
Speaking of blood clot prevention, Plasmin capsules, a novel therapeutic supplement from China is now available in the Philippines. Plasmin (Lumbrokinase 250mg) contains three clot-dissolving enzymes namely collagenase, profibrinolysin activator and fibrinolysin, that work in synergy to dissolve blood clots and prevent them from forming.
Clinical studies have proven the benefits of Plasmin in patients with diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Among them: reduction in numbness and dizziness, recovery of sensation and function of the arms and legs, improvement in breathing and speech, reduction in blood pressure and chest pain, reduction in blood sugar and cholesterol levels and increased physical energy.
Plasmin being 100 percent natural, is free from side effects and can be safely combined with medications for hypertension, diabetes, stroke and heart disease. It is BFAD approved and USFDA certified and available at Mercury, Watson’s and all leading drugstores nationwide.
Plasmin is exclusively marketed by Sea Pharmacom Inc., a fast-growing pharmaceutical company that also offers other quality and affordable drugs called Economeds.
