Wednesday, August 06, 2008 Yap tops 23 others, earns Bowler of Month title
FINISHING strong, Jake Yap dominated 23 other bowlers and was declared the Bowler of the Month of July of the Cebu Tenpin Association’s (Cetba) monthly tournament at the SM Bowling Center last Sunday.
Yap toppled a total of 1,619 pinfalls and scored a game high of 227 pinfalls in his second game while on second place was Alexander Lagcao who finished with a total of 1,589 pinfalls.
Meanwhile, Nestor Longcanaya clinched the third spot with 1,586 total pinfalls and fell short of Lagcao’s score by only three pinfalls.
Baby Bacon grabbed the fourth spot with 1,567 pinfalls, Inday De Gracia was at fifth with 1,562 pinfalls and Beth Ngo completed two pinfalls shy of De Gracia’s sixth with 1,560 pinfalls.
On the other hand, in the female version of the monthly tournament, the Cetba Ladies Bowler of the Month, Jeanette Cabiasa took the top honors with 1,139 pinfalls last July 28.
Cynthia Uybengkee grabbed the second place with 1,128 pinfalls and Nicnic Keegan was at third with 1,116 total pinfalls.
The top lady bowler at last month only finished at 12th place with just 976 pinfalls far from her championship performance in June of 1,182 total pinfalls. (EKA)
