Hair removal by light energy

ASK actress Marian Rivera. She’s happy with the treatment she’s using to keep her skin smooth and clean.

While shaving, waxing, using depilatory creams and tweezing are readily available and seem practical in removing unwanted hair, in the long run they can become expensive, inconvenient and tedious.

Compare a lifetime of constantly removing unwanted hair to an average of six to eight sessions to permanently remove them.

This has been made possible with the introduction of LaserLight hair removal in 2000. It has become the norm for thousands of women. While a few sessions may cost higher than say, a couple of razors or a wax at the salon, the treatment will only need a number of sessions to put a permanent end to unwanted hair growth.

The treatment uses an FDA-approved diode laser that emits pulses of light energy that are absorbed by the pigment or melanin of the hair follicle. This targets the hair root and disables it from growing new hair.

Clients will feel only a stinging sensation during the treatment and a topical anesthetic may also be used to further alleviate any discomfort. An average of six to eight sessions are required to permanently remove all the unwanted hair.

Aside from the hair removal, the skin also becomes smoother and lighter because there’s no trauma from conventional hair removal methods. That means no more chicken skin, dark underarms, stubbles and of course, unwanted hair!

Thanks to LaserLight, women can now enjoy the convenience of being hair free permanently. They can save time, money and effort, and be free from the never-ending routine of removing unwanted hair. Plus it gets rid of all those unwanted marks from hair trauma: discoloration, ingrown hair, stubbles, rashers and chicken skin. After a number of painless sessions, you’ll be hair-free, and hassle-free, for good!

Features. The treatment uses the following features:

l LightSheer, a state-of-the-art, high-power diode laser technology that emits pulses of light energy, which are absorbed by the pigment or melanin in the hair follicle. This light energy targets the hair root, disabling it from growing a new hair.

l It has a unique ChillTip hand piece that cools on contact, protecting the skin while directing the laser energy to the hair follicle, effectively disabling hair production permanently.

l More than one treatment is necessary because hair grows in different stages. Permanent reduction is the gradual thinning
process until all the hair is gone and it usually takes six-eight treatments to remove all the hair.

LaserLight hair removal is available at Facial Care Centre. For a free consultation call 892-SKIN (7546), Cebu (233-7631) and Pampanga (961-3404/08).
