ENJOY the ultimate luxury: take time to savor goodies at Rica’s Cafe. Ross Rica King Deen is the sugar and spice and everything nice girl who welcomes you to her very own cafe. It’s a classic black and white setting of a place at Paseo Saturnino, Maria Luisa Road. The cafe offers a winning combination of her warmth and hands-on experience.
Ross Rica is a graduate of the University of Asia and the Pacific, major in Humanities and Business Administration. She also has a diploma in Hotel Operations from Les Roches in Valais Switzerland.
She is wife to businessman Darren Deen and Mom to Darric and Cody.
A perfectionist, Rica used up a whole sack of flour to perfect the crepe.
We we foodies, who were habitues of Rica’s Cafe in its old location four years ago, proclaimed her crepes as the best crepes in town.
Outstanding specialties at the new cafe are tender and succulent beef salpicado; spinach cannelloni using fresh, homemade pasta; “Sausage Mac n’ Cheese” with a twist (deli sausages are used); fish schnitzel with aioli and crisp parsley flakes; and the best burritos in town: carne asado burrito oozing with Monterey Jack cheese, refried beans, rice and yummy meat tenders.
Other house specialties include the gambaretti Pasta with the prawns plump and fresh, angus beef tapa, garlic chicken (40 cloves), and every once on a special occasion dish out Wagyu osso bucco.
For your saccharine cravings, brazo mantecado and mango crepes topped with raspberry Italian soda served in a carafe.
Here at Rica’s Cafe, you can toast cherished friendships, or retreat to the comfort food of wonderful memories, or simply take pleasure in creating your own crepe.
