MARIE Celine Mercado and Patrick Moser were principals at a wedding officiated by Bishop John Du at the Archbishop’s Residence. She is a communications officer with the United Nation's Children's Fund or Unicef (she finished her MA in Boston College) stationed in Jerusalem, while he is an Agence France Presse (AFP) staff member, also based in Jerusalem.
They met during the emergency in Haiti when Patrick (a Swiss national) was covering the crisis for AFP and Celine was serving as a member of the Unicef relief team. The bride is the daughter of Sun.Star Cebu columnist Juan L. Mercado and Lydia Salarda-Mercado.

Former Miss Cebu City 1999 June Estalilla wed British businessman Philip Myatt during afternoon rites at the Ocean Pavilion of Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort & Spa. Reception was at the beachfront of the resort where a wondrous fireworks display gave added color to a starlit sky.

Dr. Mila Espina, former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) and the erstwhile moving force of the USJ-R Cultural Emsemble, had the customary dinner-musicale for her birthday celebration.
Former students whom she had trained and nurtured and are now accomplished performers, were all there at White Gold House during the dinner affair. Oh yes, they wowed the guests with their performances. It was definitely Mila’s night and she was beaming! Looking just as proud and happy was her dear hubby Sonny E, as well as her siblings, Lydia Castillo and Ding Silva who came all the way from Manila.

A recent birthday gal was lady golfer Lucille Colina who together with loving husband Vic, hosted an intimate little dinner at their well-appointed home in Maria Luisa Park. Piece de resistance were the fresh, fat crabs and giant prawns. But of course there was lechon too!

Louella de la Victoria of Vancouver, Canada, chose to come for visit when St. Theresa’s College (STC) was celebrating its diamond jubilee. Oh yes, Louella spent so many happy years in STC and she was just so eager to re-live them with the dear old classmates during STC’s Diamond Jeans Soiree fundraising at the Waterfront Hotel.

It was celebration time for the Lim family when twins Clark and Siana were baptized at the Sacred Heart Parish Church. Proud Dad Charles Lim, president of Heritage Muebles Mirabile Export Inc., and Mom Sunshine (Barcelo) gathered kith and kin for the red-letter affair.

The board of directors are PP Malu Veloso, Joy Pesquera, Merlie Arinasa, Elisa Torres, Sue Gray and Fely Gimarino.
