Stallions face Heroes

EIGHTH-ranked Trace Laguna Stallions and No. 9 Tagaytay-Cavite Heroes will face off tonight in the wild card phase of the Liga Pilipanas at the Trace College Gym in Los Baños.

Laguna enjoys a twice-to-beat incentives and the homecourt advantage over the Heroes.

Whoever wins will be playing the Niños on Aug. 21 at the Cebu Coliseum for the first two games of the best-of-five quarterfinal series.

Laguna has been improving with Jerwin Gaco looking to take the Stallions to the next round with the help of Abby Santos.

Gaco led Laguna scorers with 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game during its elimination round campaign, while Santos followed closely at 12.0 and 8.3.

Coach Nomar Isla can also rely on the deadly combination of Glenn Bolocon, Ricky Ricafuente and Leomer Losentes who combined an average of 24.8 ppg. (RCM)
