Thursday, August 14, 2008 Dragonair to launch new service to Hanoi
DRAGONAIR will launch a new daily flight to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, on Oct.26.
Operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, the new service will serve to strengthen business and tourism ties between Hong Kong and Vietnam.
An economic and cultural hub, Hanoi is also one of Vietnam’s most popular tourist destinations. In addition to carrying passengers from Hong Kong, Dragonair expects to carry business and leisure travellers from North Asia and long-haul markets such as North America, Australia and New Zealand to and from Hanoi.
The flight schedule for the new service, subject to government approval, is as follows: On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, flight KA295 leaves Hong Kong at 8:45 a.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 9:45 a.m. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departure from Hong Kong is at 6:05 p.m. while arrival at Hanoi is at 7 p.m. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, flight KA294 leaves Hanoi at 10:45 a.m. and arrives in Hong Kong at 1:35 p.m. while on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays departure from Hanoi is at 7:55 p.m. and arrival in Hong Kong is at 10:50 p.m.
The schedule is designed to provide a variety of travel choices to optimize connectivity. From Cebu, passengers can make a same-day connection to Hanoi every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, leaving Cebu at 12:30 noon.
Returning from Hanoi, passengers can make a same-day connection back to Cebu every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, arriving Cebu at 7 p.m.
Hanoi is the eighth new destination to be launched since Dragonair became part of the Cathay Pacific Group.
