Thursday, August 14, 2008 Shangri-La holds ‘sparty’
SHANGRI-LA'S Mactan Resort and Spa (SLMRS) hosted a Cebu media appreciation party on July 24 at the resort’s Chi spa.
Prior to the occasion, each guest’s dominant element was identified to help determine the right balance of herbs and essences to be used during spa treatments administered during the night. Also, a sampling of the Chi Tea Pavilion menu was served. According to the spa, like its treatments, dishes from the menu are designed to balance and nourish the five Chinese elements.
Staff and management from various Shangri-La properties flew in to join in the celebration.

According to the spa, Chi makes use of all-natural, traditional Philippine herbs and flower essences in its products. The spa works with a local “hilot” or traditional healer for herbal recipes, in conjunction with a recommended chemist and local suppliers for the raw produce. From there, a local manufacturer formulates the products based on the healing benefits as well as the balance of aromas, natural base oils of virgin coconut, shea butter and native aloe. All products are passed by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
