HERE are some happenings this weekend.
Ballroom dancing fans, read this: Two indefatigable, “dancerous,” shapely ladies Lorna Quisumbing and Helen F. Misa are inviting one and all to a Ballroom Affair at Casino Español tonight at 7 p.m.
Bring your favorite dance instructor and oh yes, your dancing shoes! This could be a regular Thursday event if successful, so make it so!

One Sunday afternoon at the Casino Español, a great, historic event was unfolding, as far as Cebu’s realtors were concerned. Bayswater Homes, a posh residential subdivision located in Agus, Lapu-lapu City, Cebu, was being launched, another multi-million venture of the MSY Holdings Inc., the developer.
Glamorously visible were Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung, chairperson of the board; and members of the corporation: hubby Carlos Yeung, daughter Carla Marie Yeung, son Martin and brothers Benhur, Freddie and others.
When completed, the high-profile project boasts of these amenities: tree-line concrete access road; underground drainage with huge retention pond; 10-meter wide main road; basketball, tennis and badminton courts swimming pool and playground; 24-hour water and power supply, etc.
Special guests were firm supporters, Gov. Gwen Garcia and Vice Mayor Michael Rama; and everywhere in the Casino hall were friends, supporters, Cebu’s aggressive realtors, and future buyers.
Toasts were led by the amiable and approachable Carlos Yeung. Congrats!

Over at the Mabolo growth area, the skyline is about to make a sharp, positive change with the ground-breaking of Persimmon, a multi-tower condominium venture by Aboitizland, which will eventually develop into an urban village. This will be the initial high-rise, residential structure of this magnitude for Aboitizland.
Construction will commence this year, and will take two years to completion, we were told by COO Andoni Aboitiz, who was joined by his Think Tanks, Iker and Txabi Aboitiz, Stephen Tan, Jan Eric Menguito, Pia Mantecon, and many others.
Centrally located, the condominium is within walking distance of the Mabolo church, and very accessible to Ayala Center, SM City Cebu and Cebu International Port.
Full, functional and fashionable amenities are in the planning board, such as a spacious commercial center and sports facilities.
If you’re a resident of the suburbs and work in the city, this is the way to live it up!
