THE Atan Guardo team of businessman Jonathan “Atan” Guardo, banked on power forward J. Gartagena, to pull off a 79-65 win over Ferlyn Five in the Mahayahay Pasil-San Roque Fiesta Basketball Tournament at the Barangay Pasil Sports Complex.
Shooting 81 percent from the floor in the second quarter and 75 percent for the entire game, the Atan Guardo Boys extended its lead to 63-43 by the end of the third quarter.
Ferlyn Five managed to slice the lead to just 10, and never further, as Guardo dominated the game for the rest of the way.
Team Atan Guardo started the first quarter with a 14-2 run behind the efforts of playing Coach Delantar, Ankie Obena, Gartagena and point guard Bebot Cane, which led to Guardo’s win. It is now at third place in the ranking. (PR)
