Thursday, August 21, 2008 Niños start hunt for Liga title
AFTER winning a perfect four of four leg championships, the M. Lhuillier-Cebu Niños start on the quest for the historic first Liga Pilipinas National Championship as they play Game 1 of the best-of-five quarterfinal series at the Cebu Coliseum today.
Standing in the Ninos’ way are the eighth seed and vastly-improved Trace-Laguna Stallions.
The Niños won both their two meetings with Stallions earlier in the season, 105-68, in Pagadian City and, 90-69, in Cebu City for an average winning margin of 29.0 points. Since then, the Stallions are on a high after they annexed the leg they hosted during Week Seven of the Liga Tour Phase. (PR)
