Saturday, August 23, 2008 Movie stars win in Asturias
BOYET de Leon of the All-Star Movie team powered the team to a convincing 97-77 win over Asturias cagers in an exhibition game at the Asturias Sports Complex last week.
De Leon, a movie actor, led his team with 13 points.
The losing team was paced by Maurillo, who topped all the scorers with 18 points.
The event was organized by Teresita Matela Dumdum and supported by vice mayor Joel Dumdum.
Dumdum is also the chairperson of the executive committee that organizes the activities of the Asturias’ town fiesta.
The local government, led by Alan Adlawan was also there to support the activity.
The event, which served as a highlight to the month-long fiesta celebration, was held to provide entertainment not only to the basketball aficionados of the town but also to the numerous fans of showbiz personalities like Joko Diaz, Gene and Dennis Padilla, Bayani Agbayani, Philip Salvador, Patrick dela Rosa, Long Mejia and Rommel Montano.
