A series of celebrations marked the formal inauguration of the new Sacred Heart School of the Society of Jesus (SHS-J) at Canduman, Mandaue City. The festivities kicked off last Friday with the opening of the SHS-J Gallery at the school’s grand lobby, followed by a cocktail reception.
The “big do” the next day was the unveiling and blessing of the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this time the celebration was a dinner affair. The finale happened yesterday, Sunday, with a Pontifical Mass at the SHS-J gymnasium ushering in the official inauguration of the new school. On the frontline during all these happenings was school director Fr. Ernesto Javier S.J. who had the full cooperation of the Board of Trustees and the school administration.

BPI Preferred Banking invited valued clients to dinner at the Sinulog Grand Ballroom of the City Sports Club to introduce its new banking and beyond banking privileges. It was also a good occasion to distribute the BPI Privileges card which offers discount and freebies at partner establishments, including access to airport lounges.
Acting as gracious hosts were BPI-CBG group head SVP Naby Alejo and SVP Dada Trillo along with the officers and doers of the bank’s different Cebu branches.
The musical evening featured Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales and young Cebuana singer Raki Vega.

It was a big blast — the send-off cocktails of Cathay Pacific Cebu manager Eddie Kong, which was at the same time the welcome reception of incoming manager Vickie Yue. Venue was the Grand Ballroom of the Marco Polo Plaza, and party theme was Latin. Oh yes, Eddie was “roasted and toasted,” all in the spirit of fun, while Vickie was given a sample of how warm and welcoming the Cebuanos are. Eddie is off to new challenges and we all wish him well!
