Wednesday, August 27, 2008 Neri: Chichu and Melissa’s wedding By Nelia G. Neri Eve
PETITE and pretty Melissa Unchuan became the bride of Cesar “Chichu” Seno III during mid-afternoon rites at the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Redemptorist Church last Aug. 2. It was the first wedding in the Unchuan family, the reason why the bride’s Dad Francisco “Paquito” and Mom Marissa (Rodriguez) looked misty-eyed all throughout the wedding ceremony.
Somehow they were still trying to get used to the idea that their eldest daughter would be starting a new life with her chosen partner. As for the groom’s parents, Cesar Alexander and Fatima Seno, they were eager to welcome a new daughter to their family.
Melissa chose a Filipinana theme for her wedding. She looked sweet and demure in her Maria Clara-inspired bridal finery by Philip Rodriguez. In contrast, her entourage wore modern Filipiniana ternos featuring butterfly sleeves designed by Felix Yu.
The wedding reception was a cocktail-dinner affair at the Unchuan’s Cebu White Sands in Maribago. The resort’s garden was transformed into a fairyland, the trees all ablaze with fairy lights and dripping with sprays of white denrobiums. A handiwork of florist Pinky Chang. Against this backdrop stood the cake table with the multi-tierred masterpiece and labor of love from the bride’s Mom Marissa, the best known cake expert in town!
The buffet table laden with all kinds of yummies was kept under a huge tent.
Surrounding it were the roast stations offering roast calf, roast duck and roast lamb...all coming from the Unchuan farm in Barili which the bride’s father Paquito oversees!
It was a wondrous night for Chichu and Melissa, their families and their guests!
