Thursday, August 28, 2008 Globe launches IDD card in US
GLOBE recently launched the Seafood City Supermarket’s Globe Kababayan IDD Phone Card in the United States as the newest addition to its dependable line of products and services that provide fast and affordable ways for overseas Filipinos to stay connected with their loved ones in the country.
The Globe Kababayan IDD Card is available at $5 in all Seafood City Supermarkets, a popular Filipino retail chain in the US with 16 branches across California and Nevada.
Alan C. Supnet, segment business head for overseas Filipino communities (OFC), said Globe has tapped Seafood City Supermarket as a distribution point “since US-based Filipinos love to go here to buy Pinoy goods that they miss.”
“With the launch of this card, we also address their need to have meaningful Pinoy conversations that will update them of what’s going on in our country and how their loved ones are faring,” he added.
Supnet said this was Globe’s first launch of a retail product in the US. (PR)
