NORTHWOODS kept its composure down the crucial minutes of the game to stay unbeaten after pulling a scary 61-58 win over the Eagles in the elimination round of the 2008 Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Cebu Chapter Basketball tournament held at the Capitol Parish Gym.
The Eagles showed too much energy and gave Northwoods a tough game in the opening quarter before allowing the powerhouse squad to set the tempo starting in the second quarter.
Northwoods however, found a lot of trouble in the final period when the Eagles tried to make a great comeback before eventually falling short
It was the Eagles’ first defeat in five games.
Meanwhile, Pecandela showed too much muscle as they routed the helpless Pañeros, 92-48, in the other game.
Pecandela scored its fourth win in five games, while Pañeros dropped to 2-3.
Mandaue (3-2) on the other hand scored a 74-64 win over the Young Lawyers Association of Cebu (0-5) and Justice (2-3) routed Bros (0-5), 77-63. (RCM)
