THREE months after hosting a well-attended mountain bike and road race, Cebu’s cycling hotbed, Danao City, will stage the 2008 Danao City Road and Mountain bike competition for its fiesta celebration slated on Sept. 14.
As always, Danao City deviates from the usual inter-barangay basketball competitions, which becomes the token events in
every fiesta celebration in this country.
The two cycling competitions will be the centerpieces to Danao’s fiesta celebration, including the moped and motocross races.
The city that developed mountain biking, Danao will hold a cross-country event starting at the city proper to mountain barangay Sandayong Sur and back.
The road bike on the other hand, will have four divisions. The racers in categories A and B will go towards Ilihan, while racers in categories B and C will make their turn in the town of Logo.
The top three finishers in every category of the mountainbike event and classes D and C in the road bike will receive cash rewards as well as the Top 10 racers in classes A and B in the road race. (MCB)
