Milo Best opens on Aug. 31

The BEST Center SBP/Passerelle Twin Tournament sponsored by Milo kicks off on Sunday at the Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHSJ) campus in Canduman, Mandaue City,.

A total of 21 teams are competing for supremacy in Cebu’s 14-Under and 12-Under age group segments. Thirteen teams will compete in the Passerelle division which will be split into two groups.

Group A leadership will be contested by SHSJ, UC, USC South, Don Bosco-B, Bright Academy, USC North-B, and Cebu Institute of Technology in Group A, while Group B is composed of USC North-A, Don Bosco-A, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Salazar Institute of Technology, Pope John Seminary, Paref-Springdale,In the SBP division, eight teams, also split into two groups, will fight it out in the grade school level. Group A is composed SHSJ, USC South, Don Bosco-B and USPF, while Group B is composed of USC North, Don Bosco-A, Cebu Eastern College and Southwestern University.

The SHS-J Eagles will be hard-pressed to defend its twin titles with the loss of their key players and the beefing up of traditional powerhouses UC and USC North in both divisions.

Meanwhile, the Opening day will have a Holy Mass, a simple opening ceremony, and two games to jump start the tournament.

Newcomers CEC faces SWU in an SBP game, while USC North goes up against SIT in a Passerelle match up. (PR)
