Felicitas saves Northwoods

JUN Felicitas sank four triples including the momentum-shifting trey in the final minute to lift Northwoods lawyers to a thrilling 60-59 come-from-behind win over the Pecandela Law Firm at the close of the elimination round of the 2008 IBP Cebu Basketball Tournament at the Capitol Parish gym last Saturday.

Felicitas helped Northwoods break a long scoring drought in the second period while his triples kept the team in fighting distance.

However, it was his triple in the final 59 seconds that pulled the team within, 58-59.

Twenty seconds later, Fermin Pepito sank a jumper that gave Northwoods the lead for the first time and for good.

Pecandela had two chances to reverse the outcome of the game but Jessie Capoy and Francis Pepito missed their respective free throws in the final four seconds of the game as Northwoods secured the top spot going into the All-Star break this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bros-N-Law finally nailed a win after beating Mandaue/Lapu-Lapu lawyers, 80-77; Pañeros defeated the Young Lawyers Association of Cebu, 93-53; and the Justice League survived a 64-60 win over the Eagles.
