Do-or-die quarterfinals in juniors basketball

THE semifinalists for the college division for the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc (Cesafi) may already have been determined but the action in the highschool division continues today for the do-or-die rubbermatch between the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors and University of Southern Philippines Foundation at the Cebu Coliseum.

The USC Baby Warriors warded off being eliminated from the race for the crown after defeating the third-seeded USPF, 64-58 the other day. USPF enjoys a twice to beat edge after finishing within the Top 4 after the eliminations to remain alive in the competition.

The USC Baby Warriors will be banking on their main gunners John Monteron and Lloyd Nacua. USPF on the other hand, will be leaning on Arthur Casali to lead the team’s charge.

The winner today will advance to the semifinal round and will be going up against defending champions University of the Visayas Baby Lancers in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the semifinalists for the seniors division are the defending champions UV Green Lancers, University of San Jose Recoletos Jaguars, USC Warriors and University of Cebu Webmasters. (MCB)
