Shirt + Pants Girl

WHETHER you’ve just rolled out of your bed or gone to a night out with the girls, you can choose to be a “shirt-and-pants” girl in both situations.

A classic statement of casual cool, you’re never too young or too old for the shirt and pants combo. These casual staples meld, of course, when standard rules are followed.

Remember: Start with the bottom, then work your way to the top.
This is true in the employment world and in working this outfit out.

BOTTOMS UP

In choosing the right pants for your body type consider the length and style, the rise low or high rise and the size of your hips, thigh and butt. To get the right fit for you the waist should fit comfortably. There should be no gap at the side or back. Once you bend, the waistband should not dig into your tummy. The hips and butt should hug nicely over your curves without forming any bunch. The front pocket should lie flat.

Check the thighs too, there should be no bumps, if they have then the pants thigh area is tight. The length is important too. When you are wearing long pants make sure that the hem should be level to the bottom of your heel.

Low-rise pants are good for short waist and women with big bottom. This rise makes the torso appear longer; it minimizes the hip width. As for high-rise, it is good for women who have a long upper body. It shortens the length of their body by elevating your waistline. For women with big belly area, the high rise acts as a girdle. The higher the rise then covers more of area you want to conceal.

The size of your bottom, hip and thigh also matter. If you have big bottom, use a slightly low rise pants with back pockets but make sure that the size of the pockets is in proportion. Low-rise pants make your butt look smaller.

For women who have bigger hips and thighs wear a boot cut pants. This will look good on you. This will make your thigh look slimmer. The flare balances your lower part with the hips. But if you don’t have hips or smaller hips, choose pants with pocket. They add size and fullness to your hips. Slightly tapered pants will help too. It makes your hips appear wider.

There are things to consider when choosing the length and leg style of your pants. Short and skinny pants like capri and clam diggers are not good on heavy or short legs. It’s better to use long pants. There is no problem if you have long legs. You can use capri, cropped pants and clam digger they will look good on you.

Longer flared pants are good for women who have thick ankles as it conceals the bad spot. Boot cut pants are good for women who have bigger hips and thigh as it creates a sense of balance in you lower portion. Always remember that balance is important when dressing up.

TRENDY TOPS

After choosing a great-fitting bottom, you can vary this pair with mix of tops.

A decent pair of shirt will do if you’re playing it safe. But if you want to play it up, you can choose from a rack of fads. An oversized shirt worn over by a slimming belt emphasizes the curves. Layering a cardigan over a dress shirt is also a practical option with the rainy weather, or if you go to an air-conditioned office. Function should follow in choosing the better-half of this comfy combo.
