Monday, September 15, 2008 Teacher accused of raping pregnant colleague
A PREGNANT teacher filed a complaint for qualified rape and attempted rape against a head teacher.
Both educators teach at a national high school in Balamban.
Lydia (real name withheld), in a complaint-affidavit, stated that all her co-teachers knew that she was pregnant. Lydia is married.
But both facts did not stop head teacher Danny (real name also withheld) to allegedly rape Lydia once and attempted to do it again.
Lydia narrated that past noon of Aug. 26, 2008, she went to the comfort room. Danny, the head teacher, barged in and allegedly raped her.
“Shocked of what happened, I immediately employed resistance by slapping him but his masculine power overpowered mine,” read Lydia’s affidavit.
After the incident, Lydia said she cried so hard and was confused on whether to report the matter to the police or not. Danny threatened to kill her husband if she tells anyone about the incident.
Another incident though prompted Lydia to seek help from authorities.
On Sept. 4, Lydia went to the comfort room and again Danny followed.
This time, Lydia successfully fought Danny and ran away.
In the process of escaping, Lydia suffered several bruises.
Attached to the complaint was a medical certificate of Lydia’s injuries.
In the complaint, Lydia said Danny’s actions are “reprehensible that it caused serious mental anxieties, sleepless nights, besmirched reputation.” Danny should be held for damages, she said. (JGA)
