San Roque FC wins 3 titles in Mizuno Cup
THE San Roque Football Club took home three titles in the two-day Mizuno Football Cup at the University of San Carlos Technological Center over the weekend.
In the first day, SRFC bagged the title in the Girls 14 division after beating the Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus, 1-0, while its Players 10 squad added the second crown with its 1-0 win over Paref-Springdale.
The SRFC Girls 17 squad added another title in the second day when it defeated the Uptown United team, 1–0.
On the other hand Guiseppe Football Club also won two titles, both against SRFC.
Guiseppe edged out SRFC, 3-2, in the Players 6 category and won, 1-0, in the closely-fought Girls 12 division.
In the other finals, favorites Don Bosco College defeated M. Lhuillier Canduman, 2-0, and Cebu International School defeated Pomeroy, 2-0, in the boys 17 division.
Results in the other divisions were unavailabe at press time yesterday.
The Mizuno Cup, which is on its third edition, attracted some 209 teams this year, including representatives from Bacolod City and the Philippine Army. (RMS)
