CDU joins Cesafi football

THE football competition of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc (Cesafi) welcomes another team into the foray after Cebu Doctors University confirmed its participation during the organizational meeting last Sunday.

With CDU’s participation, the number of participating teams now totals to six.

Battling for the title are defending champion University of San Jose Recoletos, University of the Visayas, University of San Carlos, University of Cebu and Cebu Institute of Technology. The competition starts on Oct. 4 at the USC-Talamban football field.

There will be four teams competing for the title in the juniors division.

CDU, which used to have a powerhouse basketball team led by multi-titled coach Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba and anchored by the likes of Mike Manigo, is fielding a volleyball team competing in the Cesafi this year. (MCB)
