Thursday, September 25, 2008 Morales out of contention
UNFORTUNATELY, because of an injured hand acquired from practice, Ciso “Kid Terrible” Morales won’t be seeing action on Oct. 3 in the “Fight Night in Talisay” fight card for his third title defense of the World Boxing Organization Oriental super bantamweight crown against Thailand’s Thongthai Rajanondh in Talisay City.
However, it will still be an action-packed night because undefeated newcomer Anthony Marcial, who will be replacing Morales, will be fighting for the interim WBO Oriental super featherweight title against Rajanondh.
Marcial is an up-and-coming fighter, who boasts an unblemished professional boxing record of nine victories with eight knockouts. All of Marcial’s previous fights never went the distance winning five of his nine fights by first round stoppages.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Rajanondh, is a veteran of 25 contests and has a record of 17 wins and 8 losses with 4 knockouts.
In the co-main event, Omega Boxing Gym’s prized fighter Jhonriel Casimiro (10-0, 5 KO’s) will be fighting for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific junior flyweight title against Liempetch Sor Veerapol (10-3, 7 KO’s) of Thailand.
Other pugilists seeing action in this boxing extravaganza are Rey Labao, who will be pitted against Amor Tino, Korean Jonghwa Lee who will be up against Erwin Pulvera, undefeated hard-hitter Jether Oliva who will be trading leathers with Jerome Buntog and Elf Gitgano who will be facing off with Elmer Legaria.
Tickets for the “Fight Night in Talisay” fight card will be sold for P200. (EKA)
