Cops, brys. join forces, arrest 7

A SATURATION drive conducted by elements of the Parian Police Station and tanods from barangays Lorega San Miguel, Parian and T. Padilla resulted in the arrest of seven persons with different violations.

First to be arrested was James S. Villarada, 19, a resident of Sitio Back Rubber, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City at 9:45 p.m.

Senior Insp. Bonifacio Garciano, chief of Parian Police Station, led the drive against all forms of illegal activities.

Villarda was allegedly found in possession of one caliber .38 revolver loaded with bullets.

Because of his failure to show documents that legally allowed him to own and carry a gun, Villarada will be charged today with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, a violation of Republic Act 8294.

Villarada was also cited for drunkenness.

The team of policemen and tanods also arrested six other people for violating a city ordinance that prohibits people from getting drunk in public.

They were identified as Noel R. Monta, 18, of Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City and John Rey V. Alde, 19, of Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City.

Also arrested were Spencer E. Takemura, 19, Ronel G. Cuizon, 20, Clarence F. Abadia, 21, Mark N. Diez, 27, all residents of Lorega San Miguel.

All the six persons who were arrested for drunkenness will be fined for their violations. (JTG)
