Man runs after snatchers, shot

A 19-year-old man was shot in the nape when he tried to pursue the snatcher who took his cellphone in Sitio Caimito, Barangay Sambag I, Cebu City last Saturday night.

Ferdinand A. Bagano, who lives on Urgello St., in the same barangay was trying to send a text message to a friend after buying cellphone load when one of the two suspected thieves allegedly snatched his Nokia 6020 cellular phone worth P9,600.

Bagano chased the suspect but the latter’s accomplice, who served as a lookout and was armed with a handgun, reportedly shot the victim. He was hit in the nape.
Bagano was taken to the nearby Sacred Heart Hospital.

Operatives of the Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) of the Cebu City Police Office made a follow up operation on the incident, but have failed to arrest the culprits.

The suspect who snatched Bagano’s cellular phone was described to be about 5’6” tall, about 20 years old, chubby and has dark complexion. He was wearing a black T-shirt and a pair of maong short pants during the incident. (JTG)
