Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Espina: September affairs By Mila C. Espina in my diary
WHAT an amazing way to end September! Christmas is in the air and we “busy bodies” hardly noticed how months passed by so quickly.
ENTERPRISING BENEDICTOS
The younger generation of Cebu’s respected clan of the Benedictos is taking the lead in entrepreneurial ventures. The Microtel Inn and Suites is owned by the Enrison Land Inc., which is headed by Consul Grand Benedicto, its president. The resort is managed by the Microtel Development Corporations, the arm of Phinna Group of Companies. Located in Mactan Island, the hotel has a spacious lobby with avant-garde fixture; stylishly appointed rooms, with beds approved by the Chiropractic Association and imported from the US; infinity pools that flow down the blueness of the sea through white sands.
Colleague Cookie Newman will write more about this newest landmark, which had its blessing last Monday, Sept.22.
The media appreciated the assistance of One Cebu chairman and VP-Enrison Land Inc. Enrison Benedicto who arranged the intimate media dinner and who took care of the leisurely journey from Speechcom to the site.
The Benedicto College, now located in another towering site on A.S. Fortuna, held its college intramurals in its vast gymnasium and basketball court.
President Samuel and Emily Benedicto Chioson, and directress Lani Echavez led the series of events. The new building will be inaugurated sometime in October and guests will get the chance to see its state-of-the art facilities and academically conducive library, speech, nursing and hotel-restaurant-management labs; computer rooms; chapel and audio-visual room, among others.
