Tiu brothers at odds in Prima Tenpin

IN a battle of siblings, Clark Tiu had the upper hand over his brother Clarence as he wrested the championship of the Prima Cebu Tenpin Bowling September Bowling Monthly Open last Sunday at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Clark toppled down a total of 1,818 pinfalls compared to first runner-up Clarence’s 1,619 pinfall performance.

Clark had an early lead over his brother scoring 224, 235 and 190 pinfalls in the first three games in contrast to Calarence’s score of 215, 212 and 171 pinfalls.

Clarence outscored Clark in the fourth game 212-175. However, Clark swept Clarence in the next three games with scores of 278-223, 226-192 and 256-162.

But even with Clarence’s last effort ditch for a victory in the final game, scoring 248-233 his sibling, Clark had already stacked up ample pinfalls for the commanding win.

The talented youth John Gasataya only settled for second runner-up behind the brilliant brothers with a total of 1,659 pinfalls while Lolong Uy was finished as the third runner-up with 1,628 total pinfalls.

Lady bowler Alexis Sy was at fifth with 1,628 total pinfalls, April and July Prima Cebu Tenpin Bowling titleholder Docdoc Gothong was at sixth with a total 1,592 pinfalls and Bede Ilano completed at seventh with 1,584 pinfalls.

This installment of the monthly tournament was sponsored by the University of Cebu. (EKA)
