Man asks for ‘offering,’ arrested
A 30-year-old man, who claimed to be a missionary, was arrested for alleged extortion activity inside a private hospital last Wednesday night.
The suspect identified as Michael Calimpusan Rebosura, 30, a native of Bohol province but is temporarily living in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, was arrested after allegedly fooling two women to give an “offering” for a congregation.
He was arrested by complainants Joana Marie P. Ricaña, 19, of Barangay Sambag I, and Nancy A. Go, 34, of Maria Cristina Ext., who were victimized inside Cebu Doctor’s Hospital.
Hospital security guards Susanito Mata and Pilar Dingding aided the complainants in arresting Rebosura.
Three white small envelopes that served as the offering were confiscated from Rebosura.
Two envelopes contained P50 each, while the other envelope has P20 inside.
Chief Insp. Arnel Banzon, chief of the Fuente Osmeña Police Station where Rebosura is detained, said a complaint of extortion will be filed against Rebosura. (JTG)
