HOUSE of Hope and NEC Telecom crushed separate foes in the 7th Thirsty Hoop Jams Inter-Company Basketball Tournament at the Bright Academy Gym in Brgy. Banilad the other day.
House of Hope bested Globe Telecom, 56-49, while NEC Telecom whacked Alliance Software, 44-38. Jimmy Abello had 16 points, while Roel Patunob and Romeo Membrillo combined for 21 points for House of Hope, which never looked back after jumping off to a hot 16-7 start.
Globe Telecom closed the gap down to only two points, 40-42, but House of Hope went strong in the windup to preserve the seven-point win.
Steffan Maniquis was the lone doube-digit scorer for Globe Telecom with 11.
Teh, on the other hand, top-scored for NEC Telecom with 15 points followed by Ronald de Castro with 12. They kept Alliance Software at bay since closing the third period with a 32-25 advantage in a low-scoring battle.
Raymond Rizada paced Alliance Software with a game-high 18 points. (PR)
