Triple header in tonight’s Saga in Naga

TWO of American Boxing Academy’s (ABA) elite boxers will be gunning for international titles as they wage war against their respective Thai opponents tonight in the triple championship fight event dubbed Saga in Naga at the Naga Sports Complex.

Ramie Laput will be battling Mongkolchai Sing–manasak of the Tui Gym for the interim World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific super bantamweight crown in the main event of the evening.

The Digos City-based Laput possesses a professional boxing record of 31 wins and three defeats with 15 knockouts, while the 33-year old Singmanasak has a record of 21 victories and 11 losses with eight knockouts.

Laput has a 16 fight-winning streak since defeating Indonesian Yopi Benu (6-7-3, 3 KOs) in 2002, while Singmanasak won his last fight against newcomer Mana Morakotgym (0-2) last March 28.

On the other hand, fellow ABA comrade Fernando Lumacad will be up against Saensaknoi Sor Muangkalang for the interim WBO Oriental flyweight title.

In Lumacad’s young two-year boxing career, he boasts a 17-1 win-loss record with seven knockouts while his Thai opponent, Sor Muankalang has 10 wins and three losses with two knockouts.

Meanwhile, two young boxers will be trading leathers for the third international title fight of the evening. The undefeated up-and-rising pugilist “Marvelous” Marvin Sonsona (7-0, 6 KOs) will be facing fellow undefeated youth Joel Rafols (5-0-2) for the
vacant WBO Asia-Pacific Youth belt.

In the supporting bouts, Reil Mandate will fight Ryan Tampus, while Gerry Pajal will face Kevin Dela Cruz. Korean Jongwoon Choi will battle Jestoni Pepito as Rolando Magallano fights Dizon Kag-ong.

Ringside tickets will be sold for P100, while general administration is pegged at P30.

This boxing event is promoted by SGG Promotions and ABA with the support of Mayor Valdimar Chong. (EKA)
