Guardo beats Greenbank in Braa

THE Atan Guardo team struck again in the Banawa Riverside Athletic Association (BRAA) as it defeated Greenbank, 92-75.

The Guardo Cagers relied on their speed and quickness to offset their inconsistency in field goal shooting. They trailed by two points after the 2nd quarter 40-42, but immediately found their offensive smart moves in the 3rd quarter to grab the lead, 66-62.

The tandem of Cinco, Gabutan and Panerio spelled the difference as they scored in double figures with 20, 14 and 14, respectively.

The Atan Guardo team now leads in bracket C with a clean 3-0 win-loss record, while Yob Kalla, which is also backed by Atan Guardo, is ranked second in Bracket A with a 2-1 win-loss record after elimination round.

The Guardo-sponsored teams send strong message to their 16 rivals of their serious title campaign in the three months cagefest organized by Boy Allan Lataza, a former team manager of the defunct Tribu Sugbo as national champion NBC.

According to Lataza there will be a selection of awards at the end of the conference and special awards will be handled to the Mythical 5, MVP, best coach, best sportsmanship for team and player, best muse and the champion of 3 point shoot-out. (PR)
