CEBU City Mayor Tommy Osmeña is set to fly to the US today to seek a second opinion on the reportedly cancerous mass found in his urinary bladder.
Don’t worry folks, like Gen. Douglas MacArthur, he’ll return to serve as mayor until 2010.

“I don’t think I’m going to die before 2010. No way, I’m too stubborn for that,” Mayor Tommy said.
I believe him.

Mayor Tommy said he’s not worried about his health.
“What happens to me, I don’t care,” he said.
His worries, he said, were his wife and his son and his commitment to the City and the South Road Properties.
He sure knows where his worries lie and why he’ll be missed.

Mayor Tommy assured the Cebuanos the City Government will be in good hands while he is away.
Well, isn’t it time for Vice Mayor Mike Rama to take his internship as mayor?
It’s good for Cebuanos, City Administrator Bimbo Fernandez said, because they’ll train future mayor Mike like a student.

National Bureau of Intelligence (NBI) agents Monday night pounced on Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez’ notorious adopted son, Joavan, inside a Talisay spa and arrested him for the non-bailable offense of serious illegal detention.
Perhaps the agents knew there are no guardian angels in massage parlors.
But Talisaynons may now heave a collective sigh of relief.

Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal earlier urged Brod Soc to discipline his son.
No, His Eminence didn’t tell Brod Soc to jail his son.

Pretty prosecutor Mary Ann Castro, reports said, is set to be named judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in Lapu-Lapu City.
In a visit to the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Bogo City years ago, she said she heard a voice whisper to her that she’ll become a judge by 2010.
But she’s still waiting for a sign which, I think, would come in the form of an appointment.
