Jumapao stays on top as month’s bowler

YOUNG bowling sensation Jomar Jumapao captured his third Bowler of the Month title, as he triumphed in the September edition of Bowling Tenpin Association’s monthly tournament.

In a close battle, Jumapao edged lady bowler Michelle Lim by just three pinfalls.

Jumapao scored 1,752 pinfalls while Lim toppled 1,749 pinfalls.

Jumapao had a good start as he outscored February Bowler of the Month Lim in the first two games, scoring 212 and 217, compared to Lim’s 203 and 170 pinfall performances. However, Lim outscored Jumapao in the third game scoring 236 over Jumapao’s 213 pinfalls.

Jumapao then outgunned Lim in the fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth games and they had a tie in the sixth game with 183 pinfalls each.

Jumapao is also the Bowler of the Month for January and April.

Meanwhile, March and May Bowler of the Month Clark Tiu settled for the second runner-up with 1,652 pinfalls.

Lady bowlers Jacklyn Lim and Xyrra Cabusas were at the fourth and fifth spot scoring 1,614 and 1,608 respectively while Charly Michael finished at sixth with of 1,599 pinfalls. (EKA)
